QUALIFIED PARTICIPANTS FOR THE DESIGN COMPETITION  VISITED THE SITE AND KRALJEVO

The Competition for urban and architectural design is part of European Union donation implemented through Technical assistance to the Project of urban regeneration of housing settlement in Dositejeva Street in Kralјevo.

The competition is open to 8 architectural studios/consortium invited after the public call for pre- qualification by the investor, IPF Technical assistance to the Project, as the best ranked per qualification criteria. It was determined that if applied, 2 of 8 studios/consortium which met the pre- qualification shall be from Kraljevo. The subject of the single-stage anonymous competition is development of urban and architectural design of housing block “Pic Mala” in Kralјevo, within the Project of urban regeneration of housing settlement in Dositejeva street in Kralјevo.

The competition has started by sending the invitations and competition brief on August 03, 2015 and will be closed by selection of a conceptual design on October 16, 2015.

The competition schedule also includes a site visit and meeting with beneficiaries. Representatives of the architectural studios invited to participate in the design competition on August 18, 2015 visited the site on which new housing buildings will be built. This visit was organized in order to provide an insight into the building site and competition conditions on the ground. Additionally, a meeting with representatives of the City of Kraljevo and Project Management Unit was held in the City Hall, presenting the objectives and concept of the Project under which the competition is implemented. Thus, competition conditions were presented in details, and a later discussion gave answers to designers’ questions and explained certain requirements specified in the competition brief. Designers were given the opportunity to ask questions in writing subsequently, in order to clarify any further doubts.
